As many may already know, there is a new rule for 2024 that you may not lift the ball. (Rule 7L). A carry is defined as "Hitting the ball in such a way that it does not bounce away from the paddle but is carried along on the face of the paddle." ( definition 3A2) It is still legal to double contact the ball, however, as long as it is "during a continuous, single-direction stroke". (Rule11A)

I'm guessing this rule change isn't going to apply very often. I've seen a lot of double contacts, but not sure I've actually seen anyone carry the ball. You have just a week left to try it and still be legal!
